My Approach
Through my studies and personal experiences growing up in both collectivist and individualist cultures, I’ve come to appreciate that each person has a unique journey with their own struggles. I’ve also come to believe that within every individual lies the wisdom and inner strength to navigate challenges, shaped by their lived experiences. Our work together would focus on helping you reconnect with that deep well of knowledge already within you.
To support this, I draw on neuroscience to understand how experiences, including trauma, are encoded in the mind and body. Through this lens, and with the support of various therapeutic approaches, we will work together to untangle the ways your struggles show up - whether as anxiety, depression, grief, or something else - and move toward your therapy goals. Since you are the expert of your own life, your input and collaboration are essential in shaping a space that best supports your healing and growth.
It would be an absolute honour to walk alongside you on your journey!
On A Personal Note
Before becoming a therapist, I had an extensive career in the federal government. I appreciate the courage it takes to initiate the first step away from the familiar and secure, plunging into the unknown in search of new possibilities.
I'm passionate about learning and consider myself a lifelong learner. Albert Einstein once said, “When you stop learning, you die.” This quote deeply resonates with me because learning fosters growth, and personal growth is one of my core values. I always aim to surpass yesterday's version of myself. For me, one of the most enriching ways to learn is through others. That's why I love engaging with people and listening to their unique experiences and journeys. Each interaction offers a chance to gain valuable insights and broaden my perspective.
In my free time, I love connecting with nature, and because of that, I've taken an interest in photography to try and capture its beauty. I also just recently started painting, and although I'm not very good at it, I’m learning! For my holistic well-being, I like to run, read, meditate, do yoga, and spend quality time with my loved ones.
